May Solar Youth Spotlight: Yale School of Public Health Day of Service

This week's Solar Youth Spotlight goes to the Yale School of Public Health Day of Service volunteers. Last week this rock star crew spent 3 hours in the windy cold to do trail maintenance on the blue/yellow trail that connects Westville Manor to Common Ground High School, Urban Farm, and Environmental Education Center. By the end of the project, all litter at the trail entrance was cleared and the trail was fully established with log boarders. Because of your work, Solar Youth Stewards can now fully enjoy their hiking experience in our local woods. Thank you for commitment to serving Solar Youth!

April's Solar Youth Spotlight: Emery Bellamy

This week's Solar Youth Spotlight goes to Emrey Bellamy, a first grader at King/Robinson Magnet School!

Emrey is a creative, respectful and engaged participant in our Newhallville Citycology program. Emrey brings a positive attitude to program and is always ready to learn, think, create and share. One very special thing about Emrey is his interest in Mindfulness. Every day during program our interns lead a mindfulness session before we start our activity. Not only has Emrey been a rock star role model to his peers during mindfulness sessions; he's also asked to do mindfulness at other times during program as a tool to relax, or reflect on the day.

Awesome job Emrey! It has been so fun to spend time with you and watch you learn, grow and enjoy mindfulness!
